In 2007, Chatham County commissioned Lott + Barber to design their new state-of-the-art Animal Control Facility. The $2 million structure is located behind the existing outdated facility and nearly triples the current capacity. The project consists of a 4,600 square foot administration and cat holding building and an 8,150 square foot kennel and dog run building.
In addition to the cat holding area, the administration building also houses a catery, dispatch office, work room, break room and shower facilities, reception and waiting area, exam and treatment area, laundry, conference and training room, and office space.

Lott + Barber provided design services to Chatham County, Georgia for the renovation of an existing four-story office building over a grade-level parking garage within the Historic District of Savannah, Georgia. The scope of work included conversion of the parking garage into Chatham County's new Customer Service Center. This center provides citizen access for business with Tax Commissioner, Board of Assessors, Child Support and the Public Defender.
Beyond the Service Center, the existing upper floors were completely remodeled to accommodate the departments serving the Service Center as well as a new location for County's Information and Communication Systems including a new 1,445 Data Center serving all County departments.
Renovation of Pete Liakakis Government Building
This two-story office building, located on Oglethorpe Square in downtown Savannah, houses Chatham County’s Human Resources Department. Services provided by this department include job applicant interviews and testing as well as existing and retired employee benefits management and similar concerns.
The building was completely renovated and the principle entrance was relocated to provide barrier-free accessibility to accommodate individuals with disabilities. It also achieved LEED Silver Certification for Commercial Interiors.
Human Resources Office for Chatham County
This new complex serves as the home for the County's courtrooms, judicial support functions, and offices for Superior and Magistrate Judges. The facility is located adjacent to the original historic courthouse and draws many architectural cues from this significant building.
The exterior uses stone, brick, and glass in a design reflecting the dignity of the courts and the predominate civic architecture of southeast Georgia. The building faces the downtown park containing monuments to Effingham County's past veterans as well as a community time capsule. The opposite side of the building faces the major downtown thoroughfare of Springfield and is the largest structure in that area.

U.S. General Services Administration, Southeast Sunbelt Region
For the renovation of the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Building in Atlanta, Georgia, the U.S. General Services Administration requested that Lott+Barber redesign the interior space and coordinate the furniture for a 100,000+ square foot renovation of three of the building’s high-end office floors. Under an aggressive expedited schedule, the entire project proceeded from the survey phase to delivery of construction documents to the General Contractor in 2-1/2 months.
