The Oak Courtyard is a mixed use infill development with 4600 square feet of retail/office space on the ground floor and eleven residential units on the second and third floors. The entire site and building are designed around an existing live oak tree, which will be the central focus of the shared courtyard. Extraordinary care has been taken to maintain the health of the tree by moving the building well beyond the drip line and primary root system of the tree. Residential parking is discreetly located under the building and is accessible from the existing lane, thus disguising it from public view. Located in the Thomas Square Streetcar District, the architecture respects historic components and proportions while providing the amenities of modern living.
