INDEPENDENCE - TOWN CENTER
Hinesville, Georgia

Independence is a 2,700-acre pedestrian-oriented mixed use community located in Hinesville, Georgia, adjacent to Fort Stewart.

The master plan identifies “villages” throughout the development. Each village will ideally be anchored by a civic site (i.e., church, school, fire / police station, park) and small neighborhood retail uses (i.e., local eateries and shops). The residential areas closest to the village core will have higher density, with the overall density reducing upon moving out from the center of the village.

The goal of the project is to provide a diverse mixture of residential and commercial uses to better suit the current and projected needs of Hinesville and Fort Stewart.

Independence will include:

- a town center with approximately 2 million square feet of retail, commercial, office, entertainment, and residential
- a large central community amenity center,
- passive recreation areas
- multi-purpose trails
-neighborhood pocket parks within convenient walking distance of homes

Housing alternatives will provide a great variety of options, including:

- multi-family
- attached single-family, such as town homes
- loft apartments
- a range of detached single-family housing from entry-level to estate lots
