AASU Educational Properties, Inc., in association with the Foundation, acquired a 10-acre shopping center to provide, among other things, a continuing education center and other campus affiliated uses. The largest single space, the former Publix grocery store, will be converted into a two-level center housing an auditorium, seminar, classroom, and meeting rooms, a multi-purpose ballroom, as well as support and administrative space.
The site is located adjacent to the main AASU campus. The direct access from Abercorn Street, Savannah's business through fare, allows for easy access without disrupting the pedestrian nature of the main campus.
